Orkut Blocked ????
How to access orkut when it is blocked ?
Many institution, educational places, organization blocks Orkut and other social networking sites, sometimes using firewall, sometimes using using proxy servers. By firewall I mean, doing filtering using NAT etc.
Here I am talking about two easiest way to bypass these restrictions imposed by colleges.
1. Using web-based proxy browser.
2. Using public proxy server.
Using web-based proxy browser
This is the most easiest, simplest and almost always working method.
Actually, you simply open a website which is not blocked on your network, the website actually provides their server to connect to orkut so things goes like follows:
Your computer —> Firewall —> TheProxyBrowser —>Orkut
One such site I recently found is :http://www.opendns.com,or
Proxut.com . There are many out there, I will create a list soon.
Using Public Proxy Server
This one is not that easy, but still simple. It works only when you are behind Network Address Translation but not behind Proxy server.
In it you actually use direct connection to proxy server and nothing is visible to you , things works as if you are doing normal browsing. In this You have to find public proxy server available out there..
You can find a list at : Public Proxy servers
Take any Proxy server which is near to you and use its details ie. proxy server address and port in your browser.
For Internet Explorer it is :
Tools –> Internet Options –> Connections –> Lan Settings –> Tick “Use proxy server for ur LAN”.
Provide there proxy host name or IP and also provide port.
**Same can be done in Mozilla firefox also:
Tools –> Options –> Advanced –> Network –> Connections –> Settings
There select “Manual Proxy Configuration” and provide IP / port of your proxy server to be used.
Thats it, now open your browser, try accesing website which is not accessible on your network, if it works then Hurray.. else try another proxy server.
